Sharing the stoke of surfing and fishing is our love language, and we aim to provide unforgettable memories while showcasing Nicaragua's culture and beauty.
JEYNNER: Owner/Head Surf Coach
Jeynner was born into a local fishing family right here in San Juan del Sur where he was raised on the water and developed his love for artesanal/hand line fishing. Jeynner grew up surrounded by world class waves and it didn't take him long to find surfing. After over 12 years of teaching at surf schools in Nicaragua and the U.S. East Coast, Jeynner's dream to combine his two passions and open up his own school has become a reality. So here it is, Hightide Surf!
NORLAN: Surf/Skate Instructor
Norlan grew up watching his older brother, Jeynner surf until eventually joining in on the fun. As a natural-born athlete, Norlan took to the water sport unsurprisingly quickly. He also found his passion and strength for skating at local skate spots and you can always find him cruising on his board around town. The best hype man around, we couldn't be more stoked to have him on our team!
mario: surf instructor
Mario lives, sleeps, and breathes surfing. He is always scoping out the best waves and is ready to paddle out at any given moment. If Mario isn't out in the water teaching with us, he's out there shredding. Mario's wealth of knowledge and upbeat personality makes the perfect addition to Hightide Surf!
Hernan: Videographer/Photographer
Hernan is the baby brother of the group and the newest member of our team. He's currently learning English and strengthening his ocean safety skills. In the meantime, he's the one catching all the action, up close and personal with a GoPro in hand. Hernan is a key member of our team ready to provide you with digital memories that last forever!
blanca: Shop manager
Jeynner's little sister, Blanca, is always smiling and ready to help. Her kindness, patience, and positive vibes make her the perfect fit for the Hightide Surf store front. We are lucky to have her on our team!
danny "LA PANTERA": captain
Danny has been in the boating/fishing business for over 25 years and it shows! He's an extraordinary captain and always puts crew and guests safety first. Danny's got a few fishing tricks up his sleeve and he's everyone's go-to guy for fishing pole repairs. In and out of the water, he's an invaluable addition to our team!
Reynaldo "El Oso": First mate
Everybody loves Reynaldo! He's soft spoken, easy going, and always ready to lend a helping hand. Rey is an exceptional spearfisher and when he's not on Capitán Alfred, you'll find him diving for lobster and octopus.
maddy: coordinator
It's me! Originally from North Carolina, I came down to San Juan del Sur in 2011. I weaseled my way into this fishing/surfing family at 17 years old and I'm so glad I did. I love fishing, small waves, and washing endless amounts of rashguards!
ALFRED: team mascot
The bestest, most handsomest boy to ever live is our inspo behind Capitán Alfred and our favorite company to keep. You'll often find him snoozin' in the shop, swimmin' in the ocean, or runnin' on the beach. Alfred is an exceptional crab hunter and there's no cat he won't chase. If you have the pleasure of meeting Alfred, he always appreciates a good pet.
